Enrian Temple (厭離庵)

Enrian Temple is a nunnery temple of the Tenryuji School of the Rinzai Sect located in Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. Sango (literally, "mountain name"), which is the title prefixed to the name of a Buddhist temple, is Nyoisan. The principal image of worship at the temple is the Nyoirin Kannon (the Bodhisattva of Compassion).

History
The temple is said to have stood on the former site of the mountain villa of FUJIWARA no Sadaie, a court noble during the early Kamakura period, and was restored as a temple during the Edo period by the Reizei family, descendants of the FUJIWARA no Sadaie.
